British Columbia Province is investing $5 million in the SolarBC program to encourage the installation of solar hot water heaters in homes, municipal buildings, schools, social housing and First Nations communities, Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Minister Richard Neufeld announced on Friday, July 18, 2008.
Globe Solar Energy Inc. successfully became a contractor with SolarBC Program, and the only two qualified solar water heaters in Lower Mainland of Vancouver for a residential user to receive $1,000 point-of-sale discount and an additional $500 from the ecoENERGY Retrofit Program. The other qualified product is from Enerworks Inc.

Enbridge customers may face a 40 per cent increase in the gas commodity price and a 20 per cent increase in the total gas bill, says Malini Giridhar, director of energy policy and analysis for Enbridge Gas Distribution.
